RefComp was founded in Italy in 1991, and the brand name is derived from the combination of -refrigeration and -compressor. Rooted in the natural romantic pursuit of Italian blood and the goal of providing the best refrigeration compressors in the world, RefComp continues to provide the world with advanced high-tech solutions in the air conditioning and refrigeration market.

In 1991, the first RefComp refrigeration compressor was born in Italy, a mecca of art and culture. Since its birth, RefComp has consistently combined performance excellence with aesthetic craftsmanship, incorporating an Italian design aesthetic into the core components of refrigeration, and continues to provide superior screw and piston compressors for industrial and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, process cooling and heat pumps.

The RefComp machine design follows the principles of rigor, flexibility and adaptability. The maximum adaptability is embedded in the compact body structure to ensure that the RefComp family of products is suitable for various applications. RefComp products not only pursue excellent performance, but also integrate the unique Italian romantic design aesthetics everywhere in their machine design, and create in details to convey the concept of product quality and advanced nature.

In the mid-1990s, RefComp established itself as an industry leader with superior screw compressor technology, gaining broad recognition in the sector. In line with its win-win cooperation philosophy, RefComp merged with leading piston compressor manufacturers to form a single company, combining their compression technologies and fostering convergence and innovation in compressor technology. Although the companies later parted ways due to differing visions among the founders, the products of both sides continue to influence each other’s development, jointly shaping the global evolution of the refrigeration compressor industry.

In 2005, RefComp Compressors (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai’s Pudong district, officially marking RefComp’s entry into the Chinese market. In 2013, Ltd. acquired 100% of the shares of RefComp (including its screw and piston compressor operations in Italy), sparking a new synergy between the craftsmanship spirit promoted by Chinese enterprises and the passion and romance of Italian brands. Leveraging patented technology from the Swedish company SRM, RefComp products further evolved and improved in both design and performance. The launch of the new-generation SW5L series of semi-hermetic screw refrigeration compressors marked a historic milestone.

RefComp, combined with the patented Swedish rotor profile technology from SRM, merges the passion and romantic flair of Italian design with the precise, restrained craftsmanship of Sweden. The result is an innovative design featuring a robust and stable vertical axis and an outstanding horizontal shaft configuration. The convergence of distinct historical legacies, cultural identities, and technical features has endowed RefComp with greater impact and appeal, making it truly unique on a global scale. Today, RefComp stands as a prominent representative in the global refrigeration market, continually driving innovation and industry development.

To date, after 32 years of development, RefComp offers a wide range of products, including semi-hermetic screw compressors with motor power ranging from 30HP to 390HP and semi-hermetic piston compressors from 3HP to 70HP. In addition to compressors, RefComp also supplies units for standardized and special applications, continuously delivering optimal refrigeration solutions for air conditioning and cooling systems.

RefComp’s manufacturing facilities span from Lonigo (Vicenza), Italy, to Fuzhou, China. The company has established a strong network of cooperation between the two countries. Its intelligent production line, operating without manual intervention at the manufacturing base, ensures the precision processing of housing and rotor components.
